Episode 007 – Kayla Lopez

 Kayla Lopez

Stories of the Magic, Episode 7

Interview Guest: Kayla Lopez.

In this episode of Stories of the Magic, we get to hear from Kayla Lopez. Kayla is a professional singer dancer and actor who has loved Disney since her first WDW visit when she was about 5 months old. She knew she was a singer since she was about 5 and has been dancing since she was 3. Kayla had the chance to finally live a dream of hers last year when she started working at Walt Disney World, first as a slide operator at Blizzard Beach, and then as a Concierge at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort. (The same resort where Yehaa Bob has his shows.)

Kayla has been following Disney podcasts since 2005, and we met through the Be Our Guest Podcast. Now, instead of just being listeners (and maybe occasionally calling in), I have the opportunity to spotlight her in this episode.

After the interview, I remind you of the special announcement from last week. If you enjoy the interview with Ron Schneider, want to read his book, or are just interested in themed entertainment like the Disney parks or themed dinner experiences, you’re not going to want to miss this announcement! You have an opportunity to win an autographed copy of Ron’s book, From Dreamer to Dreamfinder: A Life and Lessons Learned in 40 Years Behind a Nametag (affiliate linkbut you’ll have to listen to the end to find out how! Once you hear him talk about it, you’re going to want a copy of this book, and you still have time to enter!

Kayla talks to us about:

  • How she got started at Walt Disney World
  • Some great stories (including one very touching one) from her time at Port Orleans Riverside
  • Several great tips and reminders for guests visiting Walt Disney World
  • Her dream Disney job
  • What inspires her, and her advice to you when it comes to following your dreams
And she sings for us!
